
The Empowerment Church is under the spiritual covering of Archbishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr. D.D. In addition, the church is a part of the Mt. Calvary Holy Churches of America International, Inc. MCHCA is a non-denominational organization with a Pentecostal persuasion.
MCHCA was founded in 1929 by Bishop Brumfield Johnson in Winston Salem, NC. Before Bishop Brumfield died, he appointed Bishop Ivory Williams as the next presiding prelate of the organization. In 2008, Bishop Williams appointed Archbishop Alfred Owens to be the presiding prelate.
The MCHCA currently has over 100 churches in the organization. With the new leadership of Archbishop Alfred Owens, the organization is continuing to experience growth and change that you can believe.
